Ladies and Gents Teams
GENTS WIN THEIR LEAGUE!
The Gents have had a hugely successful season and have won their league. It was a close finish as they went in to their last match against Hillhead with both teams leading the league and on the same number of points. Helped by home advantage the squad of Douglas Mackechnie, Andy Bone, Alan Barbour, David Corcoran, Steven Diver and Michael Corcoran won 5-4. They now go on to compete in the Division 5 Play-offs away at Broomhill on Friday 1st September.
GOOD LUCK from everyone at the club!
It has been a different story for the Ladies. Playing in Division 3, the team struggled to find any consistency and finished in eighth place, thus dropping down to Div 4 for next year’s competition. Here’s hoping they move straight back up again.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the building work for the new club house, all Ladies and Gents ‘home’ matches will be played away at the opposition courts. This means that our own courts will be available every Monday and Tuesday for social tennis so here’s hoping that everyone will take advantage of the increased opportunities to play.
It's been a long time coming, hopefully the gents can secure the league title at home to Hillhead on the 25th of July. Everyone is welcome to spectate on the night. Well done to every player involved.
