Kirktonhill 2022

Welcome to Season 2022

Kirktonhill Tennis Club is looking forward to a busy season ahead and would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone to come and join in.   There’s something for everyone with a lively mix of social tennis, junior and adult tournaments, events, open days and leagues competitions.

Junior coaching takes place on Saturday mornings from March to October and we are planning to extend this to after-school times and more during school holidays..  We will also be re-introducing coaching for adult beginners. All ages and abilities are catered for and all coaching is open to non-members

Year Round Tennis

Thanks to our partnership with WDLeisure, year round tennis has become possible for all Kirktonhill members. From Friday 10th September we have

had exclusive access to the all weather flood lit courts at Argyll Park in Alexandria (beside the swimming baths) every Friday evening from  6pm -

9pm with the club offering court priority to families from 6pm - 7pm. No booking or payment is required, Friday play at Argyll is included as part of your Kirktonhill Membership Package and the courts will be unlocked by committee members. We hope you will enjoy this new and additional

member benefit and enjoy your tennis all year round.

Look forward to seeing you all on court.

New Members Welcome

After a difficult  few years, all bodes well for a busy season ahead at Kirktonhill Tennis Club.

The return to the courts has been welcomed by everyone, young and old.  The club was well supported by members last year and is ready to welcome everyone back in the coming weeks.  Newcomers are particularly welcome to come along and give tennis a try.   No previous experience required!

Membership Fees 2022

Membership fees for the season (April 2022 – March 2023)  remain largely unchanged from last year so that is good news for everyone.  Even better is the fact that we have reduced the Individual Junior annual fee from £50 to £30 (for ages 11 and under) and the Parent/Child rate has dropped from £70 to £50.

More details can be found on the form: Registration Form 2022.

Courts can be booked by members and non members using the Clubspark booker app- see our about page for more information on how to use this. Rates are £5 per hour for non members, free for members.

Court Access for all

We have also ensured that you can get access to the club at any time. Club members are automatically issued with a keycard to access the courts and for a small fee can purchase a key for the clubhouse.

As part of our 2022 improvement plan, we have introduced a court booking system for one of the courts. This can be done through the Booker App which is available online. Instructions for payment and accessing the courts will be emailed out to you once you book.

Ground Improvements

Despite the lock-downs, there have been some noticeable ground improvements carried out over the past year. These include the removal of trees in a neighbouring garden which means that courts 2 and 3 will be drier, brighter and clear of leaves etc for the long-term future.  This will make a vast difference for everyone playing on these courts.

The old clubhouse has been repaired and re-painted to ensure that it remains wind and water-tight; a new fence has been erected and grass turfs laid  - both of which greatly enhance the approach to the gate and clubhouse.

The 50/50 CLUB

The 50/50 Club raises over £1,200 per year for the tennis club and has proved invaluable in helping fund ground and general maintenance improvements.  It costs only £5.00 per month (by standing order) with half the total paid out  in  prizes and the other providing funds for the club. The more people who take part, the bigger the prizes so if you would like to get involved, please contact Fiona, Karen or a member of the committee.

The club is looking forward to competing against other clubs in the 2022 West of Scotland  Summer Doubles leagues.

The club has one Ladies team competingin  Division 4 this season and two Gents teams - one in division 3 and one in division 7.

Good Luck to all of our teams!
